Fall Weather

I love this time of year. The leaves are changing and falling. The weather is cooler. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. I love everything about fall. Now if I can get my body temperature in check with the season, I'll be doing good. I have "hot flashes" all the time. I don't get it. I'm almost 32, feeling like I'm living in a 50+ year old body (not physically speaking) going through the changes. What's up with that?

I love this RED MAPLE tree. I can't wait until it's bigger and shading the whole front yard. It looks as tall as the house. Great camera angle, huh?

Seen Chicago!!!

Dawn, Beth (our cousin), and me, plus kitty

Me and my big sis-Behind us is the Harbor

Downtown Chicago from Navy Pier

First time to Chicago and we had a great time. We left Wed. from Alton, IL and traveled by train to Chicago. We stayed with our cousin, Beth and her family until Sat. The biggest thrill was seeing Oprah on Thursday. Although, the show was not Oprah's favorite things show or handing out car keys to the audience, it was still fun to go and see what a taping of Oprah was like. Carnie Wilson, the singer from Wilson Phillips was the celebrity guest. It was about people who have had gastric bypass surgery and transferred their addition to alcohol instead of food. Kind of sad. Not sure when the show will air, but there's a good chance we made TV. I shouldn't say that, because we may not make it on there at all and I wouldn't want to disappoint my fans. -Ha ha- We had good seats, sitting in the second row, stage left from Oprah. We covered a lot of ground in Chicago by walking or taking taxi's. There's so much to do and very little time to do it all in 3 days. We're hoping to go back around Christmas time. The kids would enjoy the sights-not too sure about the freezing cold we'd all endure.

Chicago

My sister is turning 40 this year. I'm sure she's glad I shared that with you. Last year for her birthday, I decided to wait and give her something big this year. So I gave her a card and told her we would go to Chicago, take a train up there, and see the Oprah show. Who would have thought, this all would become reality. Our cousin Beth, lives about 30 min. from Chicago and we're all spending Wed. through Sat. seeing the sights and experiencing "Chicago Times". And of course seeing Oprah. That's the highlight of the trip up there. Everyone has been asking all 3 of us, how did we manage to get reservations? I'm not completely sure myself. Luck I guess. Thursday is the taping. I'll let everyone when the show will air and what the shows about once I'm back home. Let's just hope and pray the show doesn't cancel between now and then.

Upcoming Event

It was a hard decision for me to make, but we have paid the remainder amount, for a cruise, that we'll be taking with friends. Eastern Caribbean is where we'll be sailing over Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to this time with Kyle and spending time with friends, but I'm dreading the time away from my children. I'm with them 24/7 and love it. Don't get me wrong, there's times where I don't want to be around them, but I can't imagine being away from them for 8-days. They'll be in the best of hands and I think Grammy and GrandDad are actually looking forward to this time with them. They may change their minds after a few days, but they'll have to stick it out until we return. Luckily, Uncle Klynt is not too far away for "emotional" and "physical" support. These boys have ENERGY.
